Watch: Morrissey Performing On Fallon

Written by Mike Hohnen on October 5, 2012

The granddaddy of indie rock, Morrissey, was recently spotted performing on stage at Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Currently doing the press rounds for a North American tour, which according to Chart Attack contains no Canadian dates due to their fondness of seal clubbing, Morrissey took the time to smash out two tunes: a cover and an original.

The middle-aged musician oozed some serious silver-foxed swag on stage, backed by a band all sporting T-shirts with the word ‘Thug’ written on them, for one reason or another. It really is a bit of a spectacle. Morrissey masterfully covered To Give (Is The Reason I Live) by Frankie Valli, as well as his 2006 tune You Have Killed Me.

Fallon missed out on some good material by not referencing Morrissey’s recent heroic efforts in the monologue, but hey, I suppose the dude knows funny. This can also serve as a little bit of an appetizer for Aussie fans, who will be witnessing said spectacle very shortly.
