New Order have reformed in Belgium today for their first show in around 5 years. The show did not feature founding member Peter Hook after the bassist had a fall-out with his fellow band members; Bad Lieutenant bassist Tom Chapman filled in.
While it does not look like Hook will join in the reunion any time soon, original keyboardist Gillian Gilbert made a surprise return to perform with the band for the first time in over a decade. Together they managed a 15-song set (videos below), including classics such as Bizarre Love Triangle, Blue Monday and Ceremony. Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart was played as the encore of the performance.
The reunion show is one of a few charity events put together for video producer Michael Shamber, who is currently fighting a debilitating illness.
