Watch Pierce The Veil Perform Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’ In Honour Of Chris Cornell

The loss of a musical icon like Chris Cornell is one that is often best summed up through music, rather than words, and musical tributes to the late Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman continue to surface around the world as 2017 goes on.

Bands including Guns N’ Roses, Death Cab For Cutie, the remaining members of Audioslave and more have now been joined by Pierce The Veil, who offered their own take on Soundgarden’s classic track ‘Black Hole Sun’.

The 1994 track was one of Soundgarden’s most popular of all time, and Pierce The Veil paid their respects to their late fellow rocker Cornell by performing their own take on the song at the 2017 APMAs.

The track has also been covered by Guns N’ Roses since Cornell’s passing, and watching such contrasting bands put their own vastly different spins on the same track gives even further appreciation for how incredible Soundgarden’s original version was.

The cover was accompanied by rolling footage of Cornell and also partly used Cornell’s own vocals, making it a gut-wrenching and beautiful affair for all.
