Watch: Slayer Perform In India For The First Time Ever

After a very, very long wait, Indian fans of thrash metal legends Slayer have finally had the privilege of witnessing the band in a live setting. Performing at the Vladivar Rock ‘N India Festival, footage has now been released of the gig.

Below, you will be able to check out the live performance of War Ensemble. Organisers really kitted out the stages as you can see in the multi-camera footage, thanks to Blabbermouth. The track was recorded as part of a live stream hosted by the festival.

One again, the band was without Jeff Hanneman, who is still recovering from a spider bite. Guitar duties were aptly handled by the band’s long-term guest (and Exodus) guitarist Gary Holt.

Slayer have also recently entered the studio with producer Greg Fidelman to begin work on a potential EP to be released at the end of this year. Speaking of the new release during an interview with Metal Zone‘s Nikki Blakk, guitarist Kerry King responded, after being asked if Hanneman has been featured in the writing process for the new release, ” On the last record [2009’s ‘World Painted Blood’], it was kind of, like, [split] down the middle [between me and Jeff]. On the records prior, it was mostly me. This one’s been all me so far,” he said. “He’s welcome to contribute. It’s just a matter of him [putting] something [together] and getting it to us.”

So everything going to plan, Slayer will have a full new EP of tracks ready to rock for Soundwave 2013.
