Soundwave 2013 Full Lineup – Official Announcement

Written by Mike Hohnen on August 8, 2012

After 12 months of tweets, rumours and questions, we finally have it: the Soundwave Festival 2013 lineup. Now becoming one of the most powerful festivals in the country, if not the most powerful, Soundwave consistently raises the bar for itself. With booking acts such as System of a Down, who were kind of in touring limbo, and Slipknot and Marilyn Manson headlining this year’s instalment, they didn’t exactly make it easy for themselves to beat it next year.

UPDATE 23/08/2013: Soundwave 2014 lineup has been announced – details here!

However, once again Soundwave have done it, meeting and surpassing our expectations for another leg of the now internationally recognised festival. Regardless of how much of a heads-up we’ve had, seeing Blink 182 as headliner is still an amazing sight and testament to the negotiation skill of ‘financial anarchist’ and master of suspense Soundwave Promoter AJ Maddah.

Metal, punk, post-hardcore, metalcore, pop punk, prog – there are few nails that they didn’t hit right on the head, you’d have to be a pretty miserable person not to find some sort of joy in the below selection. It’s one thing that we can all appreciate about a festival that would seem to only get pinned down to being a ‘heavier’ type music; those with eclectic tastes will not be disappointed.

Where most lineups begin to peter out after the first four of five, you’ll struggle to find that point here. Promoter AJ Maddah even revealed last night that the second announcement will be just as exciting as the first. But anyway, I know why you’re all here and it’s not to read me blabber on, so without any further ado, your line up…
