Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor appeared onstage recently, without his trademark mask, at The Roxy in West Hollywood for an all-star Christmas show, and delivered a scorching performance of Alice in Chains’ Them Bones alongside guitarist Dave Navarro.
The performance was a part of a two-night residency performance by Royal Machines, an “all-star covers fun-times band” formerly known as Camp Freddy, whose current lineup includes Mark McGrath, Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Chris Chaney, Donovan Leitch and Josh Freese. The previous night’s show saw Ozzy Osbourne join the supergroup onstage to sing Black Sabbath’s War Pigs and his own Crazy Train.
Soundwave 2015 headliners Slipknot also recently unveiled a taste of what punters can expect from them at the upcoming summer festival, with a new live video for .5: The Gray Chapter track The Devil In I, filmed live at Knotfest 2014 earlier this year.
The video shows the work of the band’s newest drummer and bassist, whose identities were recently leaked by a former Slipknot drum technician who posted a picture of a backstage call sheet on Instagram which showed the names Jay Weinberg (drummer) and Alessandro Venturella (bassist).
