Watch SZA Deliver A Beautiful Cover Of Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’

Sixpence None The Richer‘s seminal hit ‘Kiss Me’ instantly transports most of us back to the 90s, a simpler time that was rife with great music and questionable fashion. Now, in 2019, R&B queen SZA has delivered a sensual cover of the song giving it completely new life.

While performing at Miami’s III Points festival, alongside the likes of Beach House, James Blake, and Tyler, The Creator, SZA erupted into the cover with a stunning mix of bouncing energy and effortless sensuality. At the end, she says “This song makes me happy as fuck, and makes me wish it was ’98 right now.” Watch it below.

90s music nostalgia has been running rife in the country at the moment, as we’re in the wake of Double J’s unprecedented revote of the 1998 Hottest 100. Spoiler alert: The Offspring won again.

As for SZA, she’s been busy working on new music that we’ll (hopefully) hear soon. She was last in Australia back in early 2018 for FOMO festival and was – almost? – booked to play Splendour In The Grass last year. She is currently nominated for an Oscar for ‘All The Stars’ with Kendrick Lamar, which was written for ‘Best Picture’ nominee Black Panther.
