Yeah Yeah Yeahs Debut Four New Songs At California Gig

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be unveiling several new songs at the Big Day Out, if their performance in California overnight was anything to go by.

NME reports that the band debuted four previously unheard tracks, which are believed to be cuts from their new album due out later this year.

Of the new songs, from what the reporter could gather, one was called Phenomena, another was a “slower-paced number”, and the opening track of their set featured the lyrics, ‘It’s good to sing/it’s good to cry’.

Frontwoman Karen O – sporting a blonde bobbed hairstyle – was also getting very interactive with the crowd, kicking glitter bombs of Y-shaped confetti into the crowd throughout the Yeahs’ performance. She also handed her microphone to fans in the front few rows to sing-along to the band’s massive hit Cheated Hearts.
