As the end of the decade is just hours (!!!) away, many publications are collating end of year lists, whether it be down to critics or just straight up chart data.
Billboard have gone for the latter, and have released their top 10 rock songs of the past decade based on how they performed on the Billboard charts.
Now, genre is ultimately a made up thing and this isn’t to say anything bad about these songs in particular, but we’re not 100% sure rock is the most appropriate word to describe some of them. Or we could be wrong. Who cares? The world is burning. Nothing matters.

Over 50% of the top 10 is divided between Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots. Naturally, not a whole lot of people think to seem this is too accurate.

But it could be argued that a lot of, if not all, of these songs fall into a rock sub-genre, like alternative or pop rock.
