Danny Carey Says Tool’s New Album Will Finally Be Released Next Year

OK. Alright, you guys. It looks like the saga is finally, almost, over.

After a 12-year wait and at least four years of breadcrumb updates and false alarms, Tool drummer Danny Carey has finally confirmed that the band’s new album will be released next year.

Speaking to the MetalSucks Podcast, Carey was not vague about the ETA of the industrial metal titans’ long, long, long-awaited 5th album, confirming: “It’ll be out. It’ll be out in 2018”.

There you have it. There was talk it might happen this year after bassist Justin Chancellor reported that the 10,000 Days follow-up was about 90% done back in June, but now Danny Carey has guaranteed it y’all.

2018. The year that new Tool finally happened.

Hopefully an Australian tour won’t be far behind.
