Snowtunes Festival Investigating Alleged Abuse Against Artist

Jindabyne’s Snowtunes festival has confirmed it is investigating an incident which allegedly saw a number of ticket-holders abuse one of its artists over the weekend.

The artist, who Music Feeds has chosen not to identify, claimed audience members threw objects and yelled abuse at them during their performance on Saturday, 1st September.

In a statement to Music Feeds, Snowtunes organisers said, “We are saddened and appalled that this happened at our festival and we are certain most of our guests at Snowtunes would feel the same way.

“The festival has always promoted diversity and inclusivity for our guests and our performers alike, we will be investigating the matter further.

“We are disappointed that anyone should have to endure this behaviour and will strive to stamp out such small mindedness from future events ensuring Snowtunes remains a safe space for all.”

This year’s Snowtunes lineup featured the likes of Rudimental, Violent Soho, Thundamentals, The Smith Street Band, Meg Mac and Confidence Man, and took place over two days — Friday, 31st August and Saturday, 1st September.

The festival is the biggest snow festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
