Lollapalooza 2012 Lineup Leak: Black Sabbath To Headline?

Written by Brayden Darke on April 10, 2012

There’s been another Lollapalooza 2012 lineup leak in the days leading up to its official announcement. A document has emerged with the list of acts that will be playing at Chicago’s Grant Park from 3-5th August.

While the document in question does look a little knocked up, there are a few suprises to take note of. Firstly, Black Sabbath appear as a headliner, as they promised that they would play one US show after their world tour was cancelled due to Tony Iommi’s battle with cancer.

Other top acts who are supposed to appear include Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Jack White, who all sound reasonable enough to headline the festival. But the heavily rumoured and recently reformed Garbage don’t appear anywhere on the line up, and could be an obvious oversight to the cleverly thought out leak.

Previously we had someone reek havoc on Twitter, claiming to be dropping band clues via their account every day. The person behind it eventually fessed up and admitted themselves as a fake, but not before taking 10 years off Perry Farrell’s expected lifespan.

Last year a close to offical-annoucement date lineup leak turned out to be mostly correct, but we’d still like to take this list with grain of salt.
