UPDATE: Suspected Bring Me The Horizon Teasers Spotted In Sydney

Written by Emmy Mack on August 11, 2018

UPDATE: Similar “Do You Wanna Start A Cult With Me?” posters have now been spotted in Sydney with a creepy AF Australian hotline! WHAT DOES IT ALL MEANNNN!?

ORIGINAL STORY: Mysterious posters have been popping up across the UK spruiking a suspicious new ‘cult’… and fans reckon it could be the work of Bring Me The Horizon.

The creepy street billboards read “Do you wanna start a cult with me?”, alongside pictures of the iconic Antivist symbol AKA the six-pointed unicursal hexagram logo that BMTH have been using on all their branding since the Sempiternal era.

Cop a squiz:

The billboards also list an info line contact number, which sadly for us only works in the UK :'(

But, according to Deadpress, the number connects to a spiritual service phone line, which “has you waiting in a queue with periodic philosophies which gradually get more and more absurd”.

“Eventually you get through to a pre-recorded service advisor, who shortly gets cut off, and some cut up and distorted music starts playing,” the UK site reports.

Hmmmmmm….

There’s also mention of a website — joinmantra.org — which you can check out for yourself.

It appears to be a super low-budget recruitment site for a cult dubbing themselves ‘Mantra’, which is filled with religious rantings e.g. “Man can save his soul. Like the bright cool dawn after a night of prison and of thunder, man can taste that freedom sought so long.”

Ugh. But check out this savoury tidbit at the end though:

“But these things too have answers. And all we tell you now is that you can be free.

But first, we must piss you off.

Salvation will return.

21 August 2018″

Of course, this could be the legit workings of an actual bunch of British religious nutjobs.

But fans are pretty much convinced that it’s all a big plot from the Sheffield metalcore band, prophesising that they’ll be returning with new music on August 21…

You can listen to some of the phone line audio content captured in the Instagram post below.

We’ll keep you true believers posted with any updates!!
