As I Lay Dying Pull Out Of Killswitch Engage Tour As Tim Lambesis Gets Animated

With just a matter of days to go until As I Lay Dying were meant to hit the highways of North America for a tour with Killswitch Engage, the band have announced that they will no longer be performing as scheduled. With their vocalist facing a lengthy prison sentence, the rest of the band have decided to lay low, rather than push on with a replacement.

In a Facebook post, the members who aren’t currently facing trial for conspiracy to murder tell fans they “feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted”, making sure to thank those who have shown support.

The future of their permanent vocalist Tim Lambesis, and the future of the band itself depend on a judges verdict Monday, 10th June. If found guilty of hiring a hitman to murder his estranged wife, Lambesis could face 9 years behind bars.

Lambesis’ lawyer Anthony Salerno will be arguing that his client was “sort of set up”, revealing that his estranged wife’s brother was a San Diego sheriff’s deputy, which is “at the bare minimum very coincidental, and it may be more than that”.

At the time of publish, Killswitch Engage haven’t announced who will be carrying the torch of main support. So far, it seems the headlining tour in honour of their latest record Disarm the Descent will go ahead unheeded.

In other news, Taiwanese online news channel TOMO has made the whole story of Lambesis’ movements in the lead-up to his arrest a lot easier to comprehend, animating the entire series of events. It’s not clear that this treatment was necessary but, honestly, it’s pretty damn funny. Highlights include weightlifting shiny skin man and the ultimate nixing of cloud woman.
