Big Day Out 2013 Pre-sale Tickets Sold Out

Written by Mike Hohnen on July 16, 2012

Woah! While responses to the official Big Day Out 2013 lineup were somewhat mixed, it would appear that the overall opinion is positively skewed given the news that pre-sale tickets have already sold out, only just over 12 hours after the lineup was actually announced.

Though given some of the massive names on the bill, it’s really no shock. The sheer level of hilarity featured in the Red Hot Chili Peppers announcement video just oozed ticket sales, as did the handful of artists that have yet to play an Australian stage.

Update 19/07/2012: Big Day Out 2013 Public Sale Tickets On Sale Tonight

Organisers also brought back the concept of waiting inline for your tickets as opposed to waiting online. Fans had the chance to grab their pre-sale tix at selected General Pants Co. stores. Though far more inconvenient, there’s just something awesome about queuing up with your peers for tickets. It’s a far more romantic ordeal and far more of an event than sitting at a keyboard; a move that obviously worked in BDO’s favour.

It’s great to see that The Big Day Out has returned in shining armour after a shaky last year. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the full lineup, where have you been? But seriously, it’s right here. Check out the tweet below; exciting times for the Big Day Out brand. And fans, if you want tickets, better not let your guard down.
