He’s now been named the President of IMPACT Ventures, the parent company of Impact Wrestling, placing himself right in the thick of the wrestling business, of all things.
Last year, he was appointed as Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development of the company but he’s quickly ascended to the spot after current President Dixie Carter vacated the position to become Chairman and CSO.
Corgan has long been a fan of pro-wrestling. Just this year he told Rolling Stone, “Professional wrestling is one of the last bastions of true, rebel American spirit.”
As Consequence Of Sound report, Corgan said in a press release he is, “committed to this great opportunity and will use all of my resources and connections to drive the success of this company.”
“This year we have made significant strides in establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands.”
Meanwhile, former President Carter thinks that Corgan is “a visionary, an iconic artist and savvy businessman with an incredibly gifted creative mind.”
While most would know Corgan as a musician first and foremost, he’s got plenty of things on the go. His other successful venture is his own tea shop Madame Zuzu’s in his hometown of Chicago.
