UPDATE 17/12/15 5.50pm: Soundwave 2016 has been officially cancelled.
Bring Me The Horizon have sent Aussie fans into a tailspin by casting doubt on their upcoming appearance at Soundwave 2016.
Despite being one of the first bands to be announced via the lineup drip-feed back in September, the Sheffield rockers are now claiming that their involvement in the festival is not 100% confirmed.
In a statement via Twitter, the band have reported that they’re still waiting on some “requested info” before they can lock in their appearance for reals, but they’re hoping to have the whole thing sorted out by the end of the week:
To anyone hoping to see us @soundwavefest we are awaiting some requested info & hope to 100% confirm our involvement this week. Hang tight.

Naturally, plenty of their Aussie fans are freaking the fuck out.
@bmthofficial @soundwavefest thought it was already confirmed? Only reason I actually got a ticket…

In response promoter AJ Maddah said he’s “not sure” what’s happening with the Sheffield band and is in the process of finding out now.

Fingers crossed it’s all just one big misunderstanding and we’ll all still get to see Oli Sykes & co. tear up Aussie stages in January, as promised.
We’ll keep you up to date with any more information as it develops.
UPDATE 15/12/15: AJ Maddah has issued another Twitter update, saying “Have just spoken to BMTH agent & manager. We’re working on their concerns/requests.”
