Chopper Read Signs Deal With Shock Records

Written by Marc Zanotti on August 7, 2012

Who doesn’t dig a good cover, well how about a whole album’s worth from ex-criminal turned author Mark ‘Chopper’ Read. Thanks to Shock Records that’s exactly what you’re going to get come February of next year.

Uncle Chop Chop is taking on a selection of prison tunes, with “each track having special significance” to the would-be singer. The record is so far untitled (feel free to suggest one if you’re game) but this isn’t the first time Read has ventured into the musical realm.

As noted by The Music Network, Read offered up a rap verse in the Chopper-inspired single Machete, which opens with the immortal line, ‘You’re all soft-cocks, doggin’ on ya mates at the cop shop’. Too bad the new upcoming record won’t be made up of Chopper originals.
