Cut Copy Turn Eric From ‘True Blood’ Into Cult Leader For ‘Free Your Mind’ Video

Written by Mike Hohnen on October 11, 2013

Cut Copy’s latest music video centred around new single Free Your Mind has proven to be a total pop culture win, with the electro psych ensemble putting True Blood heartthrob Alexander Skarsgard front and centre. He’s more of a cult leader now than a vampire, but don’t worry – he’s still saah damn sexy.

Directed by Christopher Hill, the clip for Free Your Mind give us a bit of a look into what it would have been like living amongst the Manson family if ol’ mate Charlie had washboard abs. Things start to get a little weird when the protagonist demonstrates to his followers that “Alexander Skarsgard giveth, Alexander Skarsgard taketh.” You’ll see.

Of course behind his abs, lush flowing hair and perfect bone structure, we must remember there is a song playing… It’s a pretty good one too.

Free Your Mind is available as a single package as of today, which will include remixes from Fort Romeau & Spiritualized. The song will be the title track from the band’s upcoming full-length album, which has a street date of Friday, 1st November and is available for pre-order right now.
