Dave Grohl “Cried Like A Fucking Baby” When Florence + The Machine Covered Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has heaped praise on Florence + The Machine after they covered the band’s anthem Times Like These during their Glastonbury headline set – a slot that was meant to be filled by the Foos had Grohl not broken his leg.

“When we cancelled and they were searching for a replacement I prayed they’d just move them to the top of the bill because they fucking deserve to be there,” he told Q Magazine.

“I was so excited when they announced they would, I emailed Florence to congratulate her.”

Florence Welch, who had just recovered from a broken foot herself, replied with advice on how to heal broken bones and also told Grohl they would be covering Times Like These.

After watching the performance online the next day Grohl revealed to the publication he “cried like a fucking baby.”

“It melted my fucking heart. I am forever indebted to them. It meant so much, you have no idea,” he said.

Grohl has since returned back to the stage with Foo Fighters, slaying on his Iron Throne of rock.

Meanwhile, Florence + The Machine have just wrapped up their brief stint here, with a spellbinding headline set at Splendour In The Grass on Saturday night. The good news for fans is that they’ll be back in town this November for a national headlining tour.

Once his bones are fully recovered, perhaps Welch and Grohl could hop up on stage together and share the love in the live arena? Just a thought.
