More Details Emerge About Those Rage Against The Machine Reunion Rumours

UPDATE 19/05/16 2pM: OK so here’s what’s actually going on with Rage Against The Machine.

Yesterday the internet went into overdrive when a website, prophetsofrage.com, was linked to a potential Rage Against The Machine reunion and now a source close to the band has confirmed it does indeed have something to do with RATM.

As Rolling Stone reports, a source close to the band has revealed that “some of the members” of RATM will be involved but it’s “not a Rage-specific reunion.”

“There’s a lot more to it. There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of exciting news to be revealed,” says the source.

Amplify are further reporting that the project will include RATM guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk without lead-singer Zach de la Rocha. Instead, they will be joined by Public Enemy and Cypress Hill frontmen Chuck D and B-Real.

This news was reportedly handed to Amplify by “industry sources” and while it’s yet to be confirmed it makes sense. Prophets Of Rage is a Public Enemy song after all, while Chuck D has been recently tweeting live videos of Rage Against The Machine.

It’s unknown what exactly Prophets Of Rage will be doing but the source confirmed to Rolling Stone that they will be playing live shows together.

“Whether that’s one show, or five shows, I don’t know,” says the source.

“There are more announcements to come.”

prophetsofrage.com crashed yesterday after a link to the website was posted on Rage Against The Machine’s Twitter. The website features a timer that will reach zero at the end of the month so presumably all will be revealed then.
