Hold up! Turns out ya boi Childish Gambino might not be done making music after all.
Despite previously announcing that his next album would be his last, the artist otherwise known as Donald Glover has just told BBC Radio 1 that living in the UK for the past year has inspired him to write new tunes.
“I’ve been working on that here,” he says. “You guys have been very instrumental in my music. London has been very inspirational.”
And what’s more, the Childish Gambino monicker might not be in the ground just yet, either.
After host Clara Amfo confessed that she didn’t know what to call him now that Gambino was supposedly coming to an end, the MC replied: “Yeah, but it’s not yet, though. You still have a lot more time of calling me that if you want.”
So it seems Gambino may live to be Childish another day? OUR EMOTIONS!!! But regardless of the rap lord’s tenuous future, you can bet your Redbone that you’ll still be seeing Glover around the traps.
As well as working on season two of Atlanta, he’s also set to play Simba in Disney’s upcoming remake of The Lion King, and Lando Calrissian in an upcoming Star Wars spinoff. He’s also working on a new animated Deadpool series.
