Foo Fighters Confirm Season 2 Of ‘Sonic Highways’

Surprise Foo Fighters fans! It looks like the band’s acclaimed HBO docu-series Sonic Highways is getting a sequel, with frontman Dave Grohl confirming that Season 2 is already, sort-of in the works.

Speaking with NME, Grohl revealed that they’ve been working on ideas for the follow-up to the series debut, which documented the Foos recording songs off their Sonic Highways LP in eight iconic studios across America.

This time, however, it looks like the band will be heading international, with Grohl playfully resorting to riddle-speak when asked about the road map for Sonic Highways Season 2.

“It might or might not be international,” he teased. “It might someday be international. It might only be England, or be England and other places, or maybe it’s places in America and people from other countries that are inspired by these places in America.”

Grohl’s words come after the band previously toyed with the possibility of producing an international Sonic Highways follow-up, which they also hinted might bring them here to Australia.

“Perhaps we could go to Melbourne wherever they made all those AC/DC records and interview George Young,” guitarist Chris Shiflett told Billboard back in March.

Grohl explained that the “great thing about the idea… is that it can be anywhere, because any city has some sort of musical history”. But one thing is for sure – “There is gonna be another Sonic Highways season,” which might mean a new Foo Fighters album will follow.
