Hear Flume’s Tasty New Single ‘Never Be Like You’ Feat. Kai

After teasing fans with snippets of his highly-anticipated second album Skin earlier this month, Sydney producer Flume (real name Harley Streten) has dropped the album’s first single, Never Be Like You.

Flume’s slow-burning new banger features Canadian singer Kai, who has previously appeared on tracks by the likes of Childish Gambino and Diplo.

In a statement (via Pitchfork), Flume says, “Kai and I were sending ideas back and forth online, then met up in NYC and went into the studio.

“We laid down some chords and started an idea but weren’t feeling inspired. So we went out into the night for a few hours and when we returned, it all started to come together.”

Skin, the follow-up to Flume’s 2012 self-titled debut album, is said to be a pretty dynamic record with some “really well-known dudes” featuring on it.

“With the new stuff there’s a lot of really low moments, almost ambient stuff with no drums, but also really high-energy moments; just a broader spectrum,” Flume told NME last year.

Flume performs as part of Laneway Festival 2016 in only a few weeks time. Catch his full Skin album teaser right here, and Never Be Like You below.
