Titled the ‘Twilight Driving Series’, he’s planning to drop a cover every week for three weeks, and he’s aptly kicked it off with a cover of Methyl Ethel‘s ‘Twilight Driving’.
It’s an electronic cover that pulls the original out of its alt-rock world and moulds it for Joyride’s big, soulful voice.
He announced the cover series yesterday with a funny vid on his Facebook which shows him taking an L trying to smoke a joint.
These covers are the precursor to a debut album that is also due out this year. It’s also his first new material since his other group The Meeting Tree broke up last year.
Joyride is also still part of the One Day crew, who released their debut album in 2014, and regularly throw parties around the country.
Check out the cover and the teaser video, below.
