House Fire Blocks Fans Access To Daft Punk Wee Waa Album Launch

A house fire in Narrabri has blocked access to the Daft Punk album launch in Wee Waa tonight. Reports on twitter are suggesting roads have now been re-opened, however MTV Australia and 2dayFM earlier tweeted that thousands of fans may not make it to Wee Waa in time for the show which is scheduled to kick off after 8pm.

Daft Punk fans from around the world have made the trip to the NSW country town of Wee Waa to participate in an event that has to date, been very vague on details.

Around 4000 people bought tickets to the event which is being held at the Wee Waa show. There has been widespread speculation that the French duo would actually perform at the showground tonight although numerous reports have confirmed this will not happen. There are some websites speculating that Daft Punk will make their presence felt at Wee Waa tonight in hologram form.

Update 20:14pm: Daft Punk’s album, Random Access Memories, was due to be played from 8pm but the launch has been put back until 8.30pm to give fans, who have been diverted around Narrabri, time to arrive. (Via The Age)
