Hunters & Collectors, Birds Of Tokyo To Perform At 2013 AFL Grand Final

For their first live performance since 2009, Australian music legends Hunters & Collectors have announced they will be performing at this years Toyota AFL Grand Final kicking off Saturday, 28th September at the MCG. The band will be joined by current chart-toppers Birds Of Tokyo with both performing also performing at the special post-match Premiership Party.

Hunters & Collectors will be entertaining the people during half-time celebrations, with Birds Of Tokyo setting the scene for the game with their performance prior to the centre bounce. Iconic Aussie songstress Tina Arena will be performing the national anthem, so it’s a big day for all-Aussie produce.

The Hunnas couldn’t be more buzzworthy right now, with the group being associated with one of the greatest comebacks in recent memory. Since their 1981 inception, the band has managed to tick up more than 2000 live shows and 1 million album sales spread across 13 albums.

Of course those numbers are sure to increase with the impending release of Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors. An anthology of 15 anthems from the band covered by peers and contemporary artists alike, as well as original recordings from the band, Crucible – The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors is expected to be released Friday, 27th September.

Hunnas and BOT will be performing at The Virgin Australia Premiership Party following the game, which is open to the public for free. For the second year in a row, the MCG will open its doors to players and fans where the 2013 AFL Premiers will be presented.
