UK’s The Sun has reported that pop darling Lana Del Rey could shift spotlights and see herself on the big screen.
The article claims that Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein, who has helped produce films such as Pulp Fiction and the upcoming Kill Bill Vol. 3, approached Del Rey at this year’s Cannes Film Festival about the possibility of broadening her career to include acting.
According to a ‘source’ (always the sign of legitimate news), “Harvey thinks there’s something about Lana. He knows all about her music but believes she’s got what it takes to be a film star. She’s got the looks and a stage presence which he thinks will transfer well to the big screen.”
Apparently someone was dropping eaves and overheard Harvey telling Del Rey: “The camera loves you”.
Whether the tabloid rumours are true or not, one thing is for sure: Lana Del Rey will be in Australia during July as part of this year’s sterling Splendour in the Grass 2012 lineup, in addition to playing a handful of sideshows.
