Linkin Park Have Announced Aussie Memorials For Chester Bennington

Linkin Park have endorsed hundreds of memorials taking place across the globe in honour of their departed frontman, Chester Bennington.

The world is still reeling from the shock news of the 41-year-old’s death, which has since been confirmed as a suicide, and now fans finally have a chance to gather and pay their respects to the man whose music changed so many of our lives.

Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda spoke directly to fans about Bennington’s death in an Instagram post, inviting them to celebrate his fallen bandmate locally at one of more than 300 events listed in a Google doc.

A Linkin Park-sanctioned memorial is happening in Adelaide today, and is currently underway at the Entertainment Centre.

While similar events have been organised for Brisbane and Perth for next Sunday, August 6th.

Unfortunately the LP-endorsed events in Sydney and Melbourne have already unfolded, but the Linkin Park fans and ambassadors who’ve been coordinating the global roster of memorials say they’re open to submissions for new events and we’ll keep you posted if they update their list with any additional happenings down under.

For now, catch the details for the official Chester memorials going down in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth below.

Meanwhile, Chester’s wife Talinda has just made an emotional first public statement since her husband’s tragic passing.

Chester’s Linkin Park bandmates have also released their own heartbreaking statement, and have updated their website with a tribute to Chester and links to suicide prevention and mental health help services.
