Linkin Park Have A New Song Called ‘Battle Symphony’ & Your Mum Will Love It

Linkin Park‘s transformation from game-changing alternative metal to bland adult contemporary pop seems to be complete with the release of the second single from their forthcoming new album, One More Light.

Dubbed ‘Battle Symphony’, the plodding, easy-listening electro-pop number is something you wouldn’t bat an eyelid at if you heard it looping inoffensively over the PA at Westfield between tunes by Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. Which is probably what it was written for. Yep, it’s music for mums to shop to, and the internet isn’t reacting well:

It seems fans hoping the former nu-metal krew’s painfully soft last single ‘Heavy’ was just a masterful troll to break the internet before side-swiping us all with a new pulverising fist-in-the-air scream-rap belter will be bitterly disappointed (seriously, that would have been genius though).

But hey, apparently Slipknot’s Corey Taylor digs it.

Linkin Park’s new album One More Light will be released on Friday, 19th May.

Have a listen to ‘Battle Symphony’ below (we’ve also thrown ‘One Step Closer’ underneath it, just to cleanse your palate).
