“Young” and “beautiful” are two words it’s safe to assume have been used to describe Lana Del Rey a few times before. After teasing us with a snippet last week, the talented and attractive Ms Del Rey’s new song, Young & Beautiful, is online in full for your listening pleasure.
The track is classic LDR – moody, atmospheric, cinematic and brave yet still fragile. In other words, it’s the perfect song to set the mood for a movie scene. Good thing, then, that Young & Beautiful will feature on the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
Del Rey is just one of many high-profile musical acts offering up new songs for the film’s soundtrack. Jay-Z, Florence and the Machine, The xx and Sia also have fresh tunes on offer while Jack White covers U2 and Beyoncé and André 3000 take on Amy Winehouse’s hit Back To Black.
