A previously unreleased Lana Del Rey track – Backfire – has been leaked online.
NME reports that the track is the latest in a sudden surge of new material from the Born to Die songstress after three other songs – Big Bad Wolf, Playing Dangerous and Afraid – were also leaked online recently.
They’ve described the track as “a slow ballad” and have taken quite an interest in some of the lyrics, which include: ‘I’ve been waiting on your love, baby, for too long now, too long now/I thought that I could change you like the others, but I don’t know how, don’t know how’. Listen to the track at the bottom of the page.
The magazine believes that it is currently unclear whether any of the songs will be given an official release in the future. However, Live4Ever has more of an idea – with the site claiming a re-packed version of Del Rey’s hit debut album Born to Die will be released later this year. The version will feature her cover of Nirvana’s 1993 single Heart-Shaped Box, so who knows, maybe these new songs will all make their way onto one giant CD!
