Mark Hoppus Says He Hasn’t Spoken To Tom Delonge “In A Year And A Half”

Just when you thought the high school playground drama that is the situation with Blink 182 couldn’t get more cringe – this happens. Mark Hoppus has piped up following Tom Delonge’s epic Facebook rant suggesting things may not be as civil as Delonge suggested.

In the epic post that appeared online moments after Blink 182 released their first song without him, Delonge put a strong emphasis on the relationship between him and his former bandmate being amicable. “I met with Mark yesterday…,” he claimed, adding, “I actually talk to Travis [Barker] almost every day, now.”

Now in an interview with Kevin Klein Live, Hoppus has had his say, revealing, “I haven’t even spoken to Tom in a year and a half.” Hoppus stops just short of labelling Delonge as a scorned former lover though, by actually re-affirming some of his claims about his future within Blink 182:

“[Making music with DeLonge again] is so far down to the road to even be a possibility…never say never to anything, but this is what Blink 182 is right now.”

This echoes Delonge’s previous comments that he’d re-join his former band mates in the future “if we can build back that “special something” that was once there.” But does kind of dispute his claims to Rolling Stone that he’s legit still a member. Cool story bro.

You can’t blame the guy for trying. Now armed with Matt Skiba, Blink 182 have released one of their finest tunes in years, backed with album artwork, a release date and a massive North American stadium tour with contemporaries A Day To Remember, All-American Rejects and All Time Low.

California will be released on Friday, 1st July 2016. Listen to the first cut here below.
