More Bands Coming To Soundwave 2015, Thanks To Triple J

Punters who are all about discovering their new favourite band at Soundwave are in luck. Australia’s heavy music maestros are being given the chance to lock in a spot on the Soundwave 2015 bill, thanks to triple j Unearthed.

The digital station are preparing to give unsigned Aussie acts in each Soundwave state the chance to join the lineup, alongside the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Slipknot, Faith No More and Soundgarden.

Throughout February and March, Soundwave will make its way through Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane, meaning there are four slots available in total. To be eligible, artists need to get their best and most Soundwave-friendly tracks uploaded to the triple j Unearthed website before Sunday, 8th February.

Winners will get the chance to open Soundwave 2015 in their home state, and enjoy all behind-the-scenes shenanigans of one of the country’s heaviest and most impressive festivals.

According to their website, triple j Unearthed will still consider tracks which are pending clearance to go up online, as long as they have been fully uploaded. For more details, jump over to the triple j Unearthed website.

Last year’s winners of the triple j Unearthed Soundwave competition were Perth death metal group Xenobiotic, Mt Gambier melodic hardcore outfit Sierra, Melbourne punk rockers Ceres, Newcastle punks Trophy Eyes and Brisbane groove metal band Chronolyth.
