Parkway Drive Hit Gold Status With ‘Atlas’

Written by Mike Hohnen on January 7, 2013

Parkway Drive have announced today that the numbers are in and their latest full length album Atlas is officially Gold Status. Released late last October, the album has now clocked more than 35,000 units sold in Australia and found a cozy spot up high on the ARIA charts.

The band are developing a tendency for releasing Gold status potential with Atlas being the 2nd album to break that surface. However, it marks the third studio release from our most successful metal export to land in the top 10 ARIA charts. Atlas debuted at #3 on the charts when it was released last year.

The band took a different approach with the album, rather than continuing on where they felt comfortable. After much consideration, they locked in producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed) to take the reigns in the studio, and the results appear to be speaking for themselves.

2013 marks the 10th Anniversary for Parkway Drive, officially making them a Legacy band.
