In cohesion with FBI Radio, Astral People and Niche Productions have put together one of the most forward-thinking nights of electronic live music Sydney has ever seen.
Bringing down some of the favourite children, so to speak, of the world’s biggest EDM record labels, the night is set to be the massive type of event you’re more likely to find in Ibiza, or maybe even on a stage at Electric Daisy Land.
Headlining the one-night extravaganza is UK’s Pearson Sound. One of the many darlings associated with Hessle Audio Records, Pearson Sound aka David Kennedy has woven his way into the innermost linings of the scene. Kennedy has been taking the European market by storm, performing at the biggest venues on the continent, including London Eye, and performing with tier 1 bands such as Radiohead, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. Already Kennedy’s highly celebrated 12″ is getting flogged wherever it will fit, and the DJ has collobrative works on the horizon with contemporaries Joy O and Boddika.
Having spent many years on the sidelines, guiding careers, Hessle Audio co-founder Ben Thomson, now performing under the name Ben UFO, has stolen the spotlight for himself. Taking centre stage at venues all throughout Europe, Thomson went from the periphery to being the key focus of London’s scene. He is joined by countrymen Pariah, whose performance at Goodgod Small Club last year is still a topic of conversation, and XXXY, who is celebrating the release of Everything EP, released earlier this year.
The enchanting, yet enigmatic American Slow Magic will be bringing his unique ‘dreamwave’ sound to the night. Exploding some of the most vast soundscapes you can imagine, Slow Magic’s music scales skyscrapers and plunges to the deepest trenches of the ocean while visiting everything in between. This ‘trap’ sensation slowly making it’s way Down Under will be driven home by his performance.
Add some Dro Carey, Cliques and Ben Fester and there it is, the full lineup for the night. All this madness will unfold at Sydney’s Metro Theatre towards the end of the year. All the other info is below.
