Queens Of The Stone Age To Release New Single Ahead Of Australian Tour

Queens Of The Stone Age have confirmed they’ll release a new single before they head to Australia for Splendour In The Grass and a trio of sideshows this July.

QOTSA frontman Josh ‘Baby Duck’ Homme revealed the band’s new music plans to News Corp Australia, after the group released a cryptic teaser last week, which featured the words “COMING TWENTYFIVE”.

While Homme wouldn’t explain the meaning behind the teaser, he did confirm that a new QOTSA single will be out in time for the band’s trip down under. He also confirmed that the new QOTSA album won’t feature any guest musicians, despite their mate Dave Grohl being spotted in the studio with Homme.

As for QOTSA’s upcoming Aussie shows, Homme said the band announced a gig in Darwin so that he, his Australian wife Brody Dalle and their three children could holiday in the top end. He also wants to get “close” to a croc, apparently, just to “see what that’s like”.

“We are going to cut loose when we come to Australia,” Homme said.

“It’s not a coincidence we are going there first and not a coincidence that we are not playing all of Australia. I want to be able to come back.”

Queens Of The Stone Age’s upcoming seventh album was reportedly finished a few weeks ago, but no music from the record has been publicly released just yet. The band released their latest album …Like Clockwork in 2013.
