Regurgitator Announce ‘Cheap Imitations’ National Tour

Brisbane genre-conquerors Regurgitator have announced a national tour, which they’re officially calling the Cheap Imitations Tour-Ché — the “tour-ché” is a play on “touché”, you see.

Regurgitator are slated to hit the road this August and September, with shows locked in for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The band, who toured their most recent album Dirty Pop Fantasy in late 2013, say there’s a key motivation behind their next tour.

“As the culture industries fall flat faced into a gumption of crumpled sheets and endless repetition… seems like the perfect day to get out of bed and fall into shopping line,” say the band.

“After some time away from the store counter, the moment is upon us to tread those well worn boards, dress things up a little with a good few coats of gloss, some lashings of syrup, and then shower the bejesus in golden glory… nothing less than cheap imitations!

“So without further overblown fanfare or significant take-over bids, let’s rip as much shit out of the ground to fabricate this virtual life and as they say in the current parlance – open for business.”

Regurgitator’s Cheap Imitations Tour-Ché National Tour kicks off with two shows in the band’s home city. Aside from their headline dates, the group are also set to perform at Karaatha’s Beats In The Heat Festival and Townsville’s Cultural Fest in August.
