Soundwave Adds 15 New Acts To 2015 Lineup

UPDATE: The third and final batch of bands for Soundwave 2015 have been announced! Details here.

The long-awaited and much anticipated Soundwave 2015 supplementary lineup has dropped with festival organisers confirming a slew of new acts including DragonForce, The Devil Wears Prada, Killer Be Killed and Evergreen Terrace, joining the likes of headliners Faith No More, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson at the summer festival.

Festival boss AJ Maddah previously promised the addition of a “Justice League Of Rock” on the second Soundwave lineup, and has more than made good on his word with the inclusion of Killer Be Killed.

Featuring Soundwave alum like The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera, Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders and drummer extraordinaire Dave Elitch, these guys definitely fit all the criteria for what we think constitutes a supergroup. They released their self-titled debut studio album earlier this year and will bring their mastery to the Soundwave stage.

Also playing will be former Underoath lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain’s new project, Sleepwave, who recently released their debut album, Broken Compass. “Everything about playing this record live is what makes the process I went through worthwhile,” Chamberlain told Music Feeds recently. “Being able to reproduce that on a stage is very therapeutic for me and that’s exactly what you can expect on Soundwave.”

Soundwave 2015 organisers have also confirmed that Scottish alt-rockers Twin Atlantic will be making the rounds at the summer festival, while also touting their brand new record, Great Divide. Other acts include Animals As Leaders, Fucked Up, He Is Legend, Le Butcherettes, Lower Than Atlantis and One OK Rock.

Maddah already confirmed three of the names on the second Soundwave lineup previously. After adding the Wonder Years when their Australian tour was cancelled, Maddah also announced Florida heavy metal outfit Nonpoint and New York punk rockers Bayside will be coming on board.

While today’s additions are exciting, it looks as though there’s room for a few more bands on the lineup, with festival boss AJ Maddah revealing that there will be a third Soundwave lineup announcement arriving before Christmas along with festival timetables. Maddah has said on Twitter that the third announcement will be “slightly bigger” than this one.

The festival will of course be held across two days, on the same weekend in Adelaide and Melbourne, then the next weekend in Brisbane and Sydney. Soundwave has not yet specified on which days the new additions will play. The festival is also offering discounted travel packages for punters travelling to all Soundwave 2015 destinations.
