Splendour In The Grass has expanded its stacked 2017 lineup even more talent, with Melbourne band The Football Club and local Byron Bay act WHARVES joining the lineup.
The two bands have joined the festival lineup after winning this year’s triple j Unearthed Splendour competition, which decides the final acts added to the roster.
The Football Club will be opening the main stage, a spot which has previously been filled by Unearthed winners Alex Lahey, Tired Lion, Airling and Kingswood. The band have been impressing on the airwaves with their emotional track ‘Ivy’, which is likely to get the weekend off to a rousing start.
The local act WHARVES encapsulate the energetic spirit of Byron Bay, and are likely to pick up a bunch of new fans visiting Byron for the festival. It’s their track ‘Man You Want Me To Be’ which got them across the line, a song that will likely set you up for a boogie.
We’re just over a month away from Splendour In The Grass 2017, where LCD Soundsystem, The xx, Queens Of The Stone Age and plenty more are all lined up to play.
