The xx announced via their Facebook page: “We’re so excited to share with you the news that our second record ‘Coexist’ will be released on September 7th… We will be touring throughout the summer and beyond, and hope to play somewhere near you soon. xx”.
After The xx’s phenomenal success with their debut album ‘xx’ released in 2009, the band decided to settle down and set up their own studio. They recorded their new album between November 2011 and May 2012 in London. It was produced by Jamie Smith of The xx.
Coexist will be released in Sydney on Friday, 7th September through Young Turks and Remote Control. The band will tour Australia in July for two shows: one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.
However, in late December The xx did release a demo of a new song off their album, titled Open Eyes. Enjoy!
