Green Day have released the first single Oh Love from their upcoming album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, due for release later on this year. So far we just have a lyric video to watch, with an official clip coming out soon.
Up until now we’ve only heard snippets of songs from in-the-studio teasers and album trailer videos, but this is the first full song we’ve had a chance to listen to in order to get a general vibe of the album. The group spoke in a recent interview about moving their sound away from the punk sound they’re best known for, describing their new sound as “punchier, more power pop – somewhere between AC/DC and the early Beatles”.
All three of the album covers have now been revealed via two album teaser videos: the first with frontman Billy Joe Armstrong’s head with his eyes crossed out and a green background, the second in a similar style but with bass player Mike Dirnt and a yellow background, and last of all, drummer Tre Cool with a blue background.
The three albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! will come out on different dates, starting with ¡Uno! on September 25, 2012 and the next two on November 13, 2012 and January 15, 2013.
