You Me At Six & Tonight Alive September 2014 Australian Tour

Surrey alt-rockers You Me At Six have made good on a promise they made yesterday about some exciting news for Australian fans, today announcing headlining tour dates across the country alongside Aussie’s finest pop punk export Tonight Alive this September!

You Me At Six will be returning mid-way through their world-wide tour in support of their new record Cavalier Youth. The Australian leg of the tour will start Brisbane on 5th September before making its way down the East Coast, hitting Sydney and delivering two shows in Melbourne before winding up in Adelaide a week later.

The band were in the country earlier this year on a tour supporting Paramore and in the time since they’ve made waves internationally with the release of their latest studio album Cavalier Youth. Speaking to Music Feeds, YMAS drummer Dan Flint said they have been eager to come back.

“As soon as we came back from the last time we were there in January we straight away said, ‘Let’s think about another tour,'” he said. “It’s taken us a little while with our schedule but we’ve managed to figure it out. Hopefully it’s going to be cool. Every time we’ve been to Australia it’s been absolutely amazing so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be another amazing tour.”

Joining You Me At Six on their Australian jaunt will be Australian legends Tonight Alive, still buzzing from the success of their 2013 release The Other Side and their earth-shattering single The Edge which featured on the highly coveted The Amazing Spiderman – Rise Of Electro soundtrack.

Tonight Alive lead singer and apple of your eye Jenna McDougall is looking forward to the return trip. “Coming home to tour in Aus is always long overdue,” she says. “We’ve looked forward to announcing these dates with long-time friends You Me At Six for months!”

UPDATE 8:38am 17/07/14: You Me At Six and Tonight Alive have announced the addition of a third Melbourne performance to their upcoming Australian tour. This second 18+ show will take place Monday, 8th September at The Hi-Fi, with tickets on sale 9am Thursday, 18th July.
