Rihanna has reportedly cancelled her scheduled performance at today’s Grammy Awards, after a doctor warned her that performing could permanently damage her vocal cords.
TMZ reports that sources connected to this year’s Grammy production say Rihanna is currently taking medication for bronchitis, which she has allegedly been “struggling with”.
After arriving at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles for this year’s Grammy’s, Rihanna didn’t walk the red carpet and allegedly rehearsed twice before eventually leaving the venue.
TMZ‘s sources say the singer wanted to perform (she was going to sing Kiss It Better from her latest album ANTI), but she reluctantly decided to take the doctor’s advice. Rihanna and the Grammy Awards are yet to publicly confirm the singer’s removal from the lineup of performers.
Other performers at this year’s Grammy Awards include Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Adele, The Weeknd and Blink-182’s Travis Barker, who is set to perform with Pitbull and Robin Thicke for some reason.
