Laneway Festival organisers have announced that the Brisbane leg of this year’s festival will host a party within the event to countdown triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2016.
The Brissie leg of Laneway 2017, which is going down on the same day as the Hottest 100 (Australia Day, 26th January), will see The Grates’ Patience Hodgson and comedian/writer Mel Buttle host a Hottest 100 Backyard Party within the festival grounds at Brisbane Showgrounds.
What’s more, some of Laneway Festival’s best m8s will be turning up to help celebrate, while the likes of Violent Soho and DZ Deathrays will be signing vinyl, chatting and discussing their favourite songs of the year.
A stack of Laneway alumni will probably appear in the countdown too, including this year’s Laneway MCs A.B. Original with their protest song ‘January 26’, which has been backed by a social media campaign.
Laneway’s Hottest 100 Backyard Party will feature a live stream of the countdown, cocktails by the Bowery, BBQ grub by the folks at Crafted Q and some well-earned shade.
