Godspeed You! Black Emperor To Record New Album

Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor delighted their fans last year with the news of their reformation for touring in 2010 and 2011. Now, it appears new material might be on the cards.

In an interview with Voir magazine (via Hour), band member Bruce Cawdon revealed that the Montreal collective are actually working on a new album, which the band will turn their attention to recording when their current tour wraps up in July. The details are otherwise sketchy, but for a band who have left their fans bereft of new work since going on hiatus in 2003, these initial murmurings will surely be enough.

Cawdron, meanwhile, is set to release the new LP from his other project, Esmerine, on June 7.
