Angels & Airwaves have finally made their long awaited return today, with the release of their new single ‘Rebel Girl’.
Frontman Tom Delonge has been teasing a revival of the project for a while now, but last week the band posted a cryptic, blurred photo on social media that really sent fans into a frenzy.
Tom DeLonge has had a certain affinity for the extra-terrestrial as of late, and ‘Rebel Girl’ is certainly a reflection of that.
“’Rebel Girl’ is a space-age love song that combines my enduring obsession for New Wave, pop punk and anthemic rock and roll music,” said DeLonge in a statement (via Consequence Of Sound).
“As some of you might’ve heard, I recently took a brief minute to start up an aerospace company, so you never know – I may play this song from a satellite deep in space, beamed toward everyone’s house viciously on repeat.”
They’ve also announced a huge American tour, so fingers crossed there’s an Aussie one in the works as well.
‘Rebel Girl’ is the lead single from the band’s upcoming album, so stay tuned for more new music.
