Yep, Tool Just Debuted Their First New Music In Over A Decade

After years of speculation, rumours, false starts and broken hearts, Tool have finally unveiled their first new music in over a decade.

During their headline set at Welcome to Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Florida today, the band performed new songs ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’. While keen fans had already heard an instrumental version of ‘Descending’ live in concert a few years back, this was the track’s first run in its fully fledged form.

It’s presumed the two tracks will feature on Tool’s fifth album, the long-awaited follow up to 2006’s 10,000 Days. Speculation around the album’s fated arrival ramped up just last week when the band debuted new profiles on streaming services Apple Music and Spotify with matching biographies.

While many a speculated album arrival deadline has come and go over the last 13 years, most recently frontman Maynard James Keenan said that the album should arrive “between mid May and mid July” of 2019.

Until then, give fab-shot footage of ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’ a watch here, below.
