Tegan And Sara Announce New Album, ‘Hey, I’m Just Like You’

Tegan and Sara have announced their ninth – yes, ninth – studio album is well on its way, entitled Hey, I’m Just Like You. The project serves as a bit of a nostalgic kick for the Quin sisters, who have focused this new album around a batch of cassette tapes they recorded songs on during their high school years.

“They contained dozens of our first songs,” Tegan and Sara explained via press release. “Written between the ages of 15 and 17…We immediately recognised the songs as an essential part of our high school story.”

With this inspiration in mind, the duo hit the studio with the material to re-record these songs with a team of women, including Aussie producer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Hope, to bring Hey, I’m Just Like You to life. The album is the first from Tegan and Sara since 2016’s Love You To Death, and will also coincide with the release of the sisters’ memoir High School, which is out on September 24th.

Hey, I’m Just Like You is slated for a September 26th release.
