Watch Lizzo’s Unbelievably Joyful Tiny Desk Concert

Holy smokes. It’s not an understatement to say that Lizzo has gone ahead and just casually delivered one of the most satisfying NPR Tiny Desk concerts of all time.

“How we feeling at this tiny ask desk?” asks 2019’s biggest success story before launching into the title track from her hit album Cuz I Love You, released earlier this year. Lizzo and a special backing band arranged just for the occasion go on to perform ‘Truth Hurts’ and ‘Juice’ – both also from Cuz I Love You – in the performance.

The singer and her backing group absolutely slayed, turning the famously cramped corner space into a transcendental – and utterly joyous – 17-minute experience, with Lizzo absolutely belting it out over the course of the three tracks and, of course, busting out the flute for the final song.

It’s almost definitely the loudest the NPR crowd have sounded in response to an artist performing at the desk thus far, and it’s pretty hard to watch without smiling from ear to ear the whole time.

Anyway, quit whatever objectively meaningless thing you’re doing right now and watch the Tiny Desk performance below, it’s bloody great.

If you’re into what you see, you can catch Lizzo performing in Australia next year as part of the FOMO Festival lineup along with Brockhampton, Kaytranada, Rico Nasty and more.
